Yet Anthother Orthodox Priest Found Mudered in Russia

Today, May 5, 2010, the body of Hieromonk Vadim (Smirnov) was found in his house in the city of Cheboksary, murdered by knife wounds. He served in the Church of the Archangel Michael in the village of Artemenikino and the Church of the Dormition in the village of Azim-Sirma.

This is the third murder of an Orthodox priest in Russia this year, and the second in the Chuvash Republic in the past two weeks. Archpriest Anatoly Sorokin was fond with bullet wounds to the chest on April 24 in the village of Yantikovo, leaving behind six children.

Father, as I cannot read Russian, can't tell from the articles - do they have any idea who did this? Is it related to Islam as was Fr. Daniel?

Last I heard a 22-year old suspect had been detained. I've heard of no connection with Islam.
